Unless otherwise agreed between you and the barrister whom you are instructing, our members accept instructions on the basis of the Standard Contractual Terms For The Supply Of Legal Services By Barristers To Authorised Persons 2020 (Standard Terms). The Standard Contractual Terms were introduced on 31 January 2013. In 2018, clauses 6 and 7 were revised to align with the General Data Protection Regulation. In 2020, clause 4.3 was amended to reference the Money Laundering Regulations 2017.
In an appropriate case, the barrister may be willing to act on alternative contractual terms, such as the COMBAR or CLLS terms.
Please do not hesitate to contact our Practice Managers to discuss any queries.
