We are a collegiate and friendly set, with a strong track record of recruiting pupils who go on to have successful careers at the Bar. We recruit one pupil per annum, for a 12-month pupillage starting in October. Pupils will be exposed to a broad range of Chambers’ work through having a number of different supervisors throughout the pupillage year. Further, there is ample opportunity for pupils to be instructed and appear in Court in their own right in the second six-months of pupillage.
We will offer up to 10 assessed mini-pupillage places to candidates from socially mobile backgrounds. The assessed mini-pupillage will be for a period of up to five days, during which candidates will undertake a written and an oral advocacy assessment. All candidates who perform well during the assessed mini-pupillage will be guaranteed a first-round interview for pupillage in the next recruitment round in which they are eligible to apply.
Each year, we offer a limited number of unassessed mini-pupillages, which ordinarily last for two days and take place between November and January. We encourage those considering a pupillage with us to undertake a mini-pupillage, although it is not a requirement to do so.
We invite applications for tenancy from established practitioners who can demonstrate expertise in our core practice areas, outstanding ability and achievement at the Bar, and a proven commitment to diversity and inclusion.
