It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Malcolm Chapple, a cherished member of New Square Chambers.
Malcolm was called to the Bar in 1975 and joined 1 New Square in 1998. He played an important part in the successful merger with 12 New Square, which resulted in the creation of New Square Chambers. He remained in practice until his well-deserved retirement in 2018. Throughout his time with us, he showcased exceptional legal prowess, serving as an inspiration, mentor, and friend to everyone.
Beyond his legal achievements, Malcolm was known for his kindness and humility, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had a very good sense of humour, even when England lost at Twickenham.
His absence will be deeply felt by us all.
During this difficult time, our thoughts and love are with Malcolm’s family as they come to terms with this sudden and profound loss.
