In this article, James Saunders considers Canadian and English case law to discuss what claims might be brought in England and Wales by those who provide care in the expectation of a greater inheritance. The article considers whether a claim in unjust enrichment may be available in this jurisdiction, drawing on successful cases in Canada, as well as discussing potential statutory parallels and how such a claim may differ from more traditional 1975 Act and proprietary estoppel claims.
