HDI Global Specialty SE (Appellant) v Guide Dogs for the Blind Association

On Friday 27th May 2022 the Supreme Court refused permission to appeal against HDI Global Specialty SE v Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. The Insurer, HDI, was seeking permission to appeal the decision of the Court of Appeal of 6th August 2021. Therefore the judgment handed down in August, in which Alexander Learmonth QC successfully represented the claimants, remains in force.

The court has ordered that the permission to appeal be refused because the applications do not raise an arguable point of law and the Appellant pay the Respondents’’ costs of the applications and, where the Respondents apply for costs, the costs be awarded and assessed.”
