Overview
Oliver joined chambers as a pupil in January 2025 and will begin his second six on 7 July 2025. In his first seat he was supervised by Aidan Briggs and he is currently supervised by John Campbell. During his first six, Oliver has worked on a range of trusts and estates, property and commercial litigation matters.
Before coming to the Bar, Oliver was Judicial Assistant to Lord Justice Popplewell in the Court of Appeal. In that role, he worked on a variety of commercial and public law cases in areas such as arbitration, insurance, shipping, private international law and contempt of court.
In the year before pupillage, Oliver worked as a Senior Legal Assistant at a litigation law firm led by a leading commercial KC. In that role, he assisted on matters involving civil fraud, freezing orders, sanctions, professional regulation and commercial disputes.
During his vocational studies, Oliver worked as corporate and commercial paralegal for a central London firm of solicitors.
Oliver graduated with a first-class degree from the University of London (Birkbeck College) and was ranked first in his year. He won the Landmark Chambers Property Moot Competition, addressing Lord Neuberger in the final. During his studies, he volunteered with the Free Representation Unit, successfully representing a client in the First-tier Tribunal.
